The Executive Chairman of the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board Alhaji Abubakar Isa Baba has reaffirmed his commitment to work with staff and relevant stakeholders to improve learning process in the state

Alhaji Abubakar Isa Baba made the remark during Iftar with staff of the Board held at SUBEB premises, Bauchi.





The Chairman called on the staff to be committed devoted to unity, stability and educational growth in the state.



He reflected on the achievements recorded under Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulqadir led administration in education sector particularly SUBEB and commended the sacrifices made by dedicated teachers over the years.

Alhaji Abubakar Isa Baba stressed that Basic Education remains the backbone of learning hence the need for collective effort to achieve the set objectives.



He warned staff of SUBEB particularly teachers to desist from gossip rather provide their students with good moral conduct and qualitative knowledge in the state.



Earlier, the permanent Sectrary of SUBEB Alhaji Abdulhamid Muhammad Jibrin said the Iftar would foster mutual and cordial working relationship between the staff of the board .

The Permanent Secretary thanked the Chairman of SUBEB Abubakar Isa Baba for organizing the Iftar and assured the support of the staff to enable him succeed in his assign responsibilities

In his vote of thanks the permanent commissioner one of the board Alhaji Isyaku Abdullahi thank everyone for honoring the Chairman invitation to the fast breaking describing it as the first in the history of SUBEB.

The State Universal Basic Education Board Bauchi have commenced the conduct of interview for applicants of the Teaching profession in the state civil service

Addressing the applicants before the commencement of the exercise chairman SUBEB Alhaji Abubakar Isa Baba called on them to be patient enough throughout the exercise.

Alhaji Abubakar Isa Baba who is represented by permanent secretary of the board Alhaji Abdulhamid Mohammed Jibrin commended Governor Bala Abdulqadir Mohammed for giving an opportunity for employment in the state.

The SUBEB chairman therefore used the forum to call on those that have not received their invitation to be patient as all those that were verified would be invited for the interview subsequently.

He therefore called on them to be just and fair in answering the questions to be asked during the interview.

In their response the interviewees commended Governor Bala Abdulqadir for giving them the opportunity to be interviewed for subsequent employment in the state civil service.

They therefore promised to justify the confidence reposed on them if they were employed .

The newly appointed Executive Chairman state Universal Basic Education Board Alhaji Abubakar Isa Baba have expressed displeasure over the attitude of some teachers at Shadawanka primary school, Bauchi.

The chairman expressed the displeasure when he paid a familiarization visit to some schools in Bauchi metropolis.

Alhaji Abubakar Isa Baba said teachers are the backbone of a formidable and responsible basic education in any society.

At Baba Sidi primary school the chairman observed that most of the pupils are not present and therefore called on parents to take full responsibility of Educating their children .

At kobi model Junior and primary school Bauchi the SUBEB chairman expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Teachers and the pupils.

He said the Joy is that as at the time of the visit all the teachers are around and all the classes are full with the pupils.

In their response the Headteachers and principals visited expressed their Joy over the chairmans visit.

They therefore promised to justify the confidence reposed on them and prayed that Allah will guide the newly appointed SUBEB chairman.

Places visited during the chairmans visit are Baba Sidi primary school, Shadawanka primary school, Kobi primary school and Kobi Model school.

Others are Nassarawa primary school, Wunti primary school as well as Kofar Wase Junior and primary school all in Bauchi metropolis.

The newly appointed Executive Chairman SUBEB Alhaji Abubakar Isa Baba have conducted his first visit to Tsangaya model primary school Buzaye to see for himself the status of the schools.
The chairman commended the management and Teachers of the school for their zeal in maintaining the basic quranic Education standard.
He therefore commended the traditional leadership of the area for giving maximum support and cooperation to the school.
The chairman was accompanied by Directors of the board, permanent commissioners as well as some staff of the board.

Jolly phonics teachers in the state have been commended for their tireless efforts by showcasing a remarkable progress in our public schools.


The state program coordinator of the program Dr Musa Usman Tilde made the commendation on the occasion of the 2026 world Loud Day celebration which took place at the SUBEB Conference Hall Bauchi.


Dr Musa Usman Tilde said the international event which was organized by jolly phonics unit of SUBEB Bauchi and universal learning solutions initiative is aimed at transforming power of reading Loud and advocate for literacy as a fundamental human right to every child.


The program officer said the world read aloud day was found by LitWorld in 2010 where it is regarded as more than just a celebration it is a call to action.


He pointed out that a research shows that children who read regularly have higher academic achievements especially before the age of nine.


He stressed that the universal learning solutions as a non profit organization is committed to bridging the reading gap in our public primary schools.


Dr Musa Usman Tilde said Jolly phonics program has been instrumental in empowering teachers with the skills and knowledge to unlock the magic of reading for our pupils.


The jolly phonics program coordinator therefore commended the state Universal Basic Education Board for prioritizing literacy and supporting innovative initiatives where pupils across the senetorial zones are participating in the reading competition showcasing their talents and passion for reading.


Also speaking at the event chairman state Universal Basic Education Board who was represented by permanent commissioner two of the Board Alhaji Idris Ahmed Hardawa commended the universal learning solutions for initiating the world read aloud day.


He therefore encouraged the jolly phonics program officers to re dedicate themselves for our children to become a sound reading product.


Those who won the competition are Halima Abduljalal first position, Abdullahi Aliy second position all from Bauchi zone, while Aisha Usman third position is from Katagum zone.

2- Alhaji Yayanuwa Zainabari, Current Chairman , Bauchi State Water & Sewerage Corporation is redeployed to RUWASSA as Chairman

3- Engineer Salmanu Mohammed , is appointed as Chairman, Bauchi State Water & Sewerage Corporation.( BSWSC )

4- Alhaji Garba Mohammed Noma , is appointed as Chairman, Bauchi State Markets & Terminals Management Company Limited.

The Emir of Duguri Alhaji Adamu Mohd Duguri has called on people of his Emirate to support the Girl Child Enrollment School Campaign under the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment AGILE project in the state

The Emir made the call When the AGILE team led by Hajiya Ladi Hamma paid him an advocacy visit in his palace, Duguri

The Emir said the aims of AGILE especially the Conditional Cash Transfer of component is to support and encourage Girl Child education in the state and dispelled any negative narrative against the rational behind the project

The traditional leader said the importance of Girl Child Education cannot be over emphasized hence the need for parents and guardians to enroll their children and wards particularly girl child in Western and Islamic education for a better society

According to him, AGILE activities has complemented the state government effort to drastically reduce the numbers of out of school across the state

Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri therefore assured his council readiness to support Adolescent Girls initiative for learning and Empowerment to succeed in the Bauchi state and praised them for the initiative

Earlier, the Bauchi State AGILE coordinator Hajiya Ladi Hamma said the project is targeting forty thousand Adolescents Girls and over twelve thousand have so far Benefited across the twenty Local Government Area.

Additionally, under the arrangement forty new Schools would be constructed while over one hundred to be renovated

Hajiya Ladi Hamma said the project also provided entrepreneurial skills to the students to enable them become self reliance after graduation

According to the Coordinator Bauchi State AGILE has implemented various projects under different components to include enrollment, cash transfer, renovation and building of schools among others

Hajiya Ladi Hamma then solicited the support of the Emir toward enlightening the people on the enrollment requirements of AGILE for the success of project in the state

BAUCI STATE REDUCES OUT‑OF‑SCHOOL CHILDREN BY OVER 85 %

Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has announced the reduction in number of out‑of‑school children from more than one point seven million to two hundred and sixteen thousand

The SUBEB Permanent Secretary Alhaji Abdulhamid Muhammad Jibrin disclosed this in a press briefing held at the Board conference room

He added that, the present administration has restored the education rights for more than one point two  million children in the state

According to him, the twenty twenty five twenty twenty six Statewide Enrolment Drive targeting two hundred and twenty thousand new learners had exceeded expectations with two hundred and eighty four thousand enrolments

He noted that, the state government implored a multi‑sectoral, data‑driven approach that includes attendance monitoring, early‑warning systems, and active engagement of traditional rulers, community leaders, and local government areas.

The permanent Sectrary maintained that Toro Local Government Area integrated over thirty five thousand of its fifty thousand out‑of‑school children into formal classrooms.

Alhaji Abdulhamid commended the support of AGILE project at improving the enrolment, retention, and transition for adolescent girls, Construction of Mega, Model and Smart schools and large‑scale rehabilitation and integration of Tsangaya and Qur’anic schools, expanded safe learning spaces.

He added that, despite the gains, the surge of two hundred and eighty four thousand new pupils have strained infrastructure, learning resources and teacher‑pupil ratios

Alhaji Abdulhamid reaffirmed State Government commitment the to institutionalising traditional leaders in the education accountability framework, accelerating the ICT policy for better data management, and establishing a Special Teacher Corps for rural and high‑enrolment communities.

He thanked parents, guardians, traditional rulers, religious leaders, development partners, teachers and education workers for improving education from an access‑deficit system to one anchored on enrolment, retention, smooth transition and community ownership, setting a path toward sustainable educational transformation and inclusive growth.
