Universal Access

Achieve universal enrollment of all school-age children through the "Enrol All to the Classroom" initiative and annual enrollment drive campaigns

Quality Learning

Improve literacy and numeracy outcomes through innovative teaching methods, early grade reading programs, and regular assessment

Infrastructure Development

Construct, renovate, and maintain adequate classrooms, offices, and facilities across schools in all 20 Local Government Areas

Teacher Empowerment

Train and retrain teachers on modern pedagogical methods, ASEI lesson plans, and subject-specific competencies for improved service delivery

Special Needs Education

Provide inclusive education and support services for physically and mentally challenged children through specialized centers and resources

Environmental Sustainability

Promote climate change adaptation through school greening initiatives, tree planting, and creating eco-friendly learning environments

Key Objectives

Specific targets we are working to achieve in basic education delivery

Provide free, compulsory and universal basic education to all children of school age up to Junior Secondary School
Reduce the number of out-of-school children through targeted interventions and community mobilization
Improve student learning outcomes in literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills
Establish and strengthen Basic Education Database through Education Management Information System (EMIS)
Conduct capacity building for teachers, education secretaries, and School-Based Management Committees
Ensure child-friendly school environments that are safe, protective, and conducive for learning

Develop and implement strategic plans including Medium Term Sector Strategic Plan (MTSSP)
Strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems for quality assurance across all schools
Procure and distribute adequate instructional materials, furniture, and learning resources
Promote girls' education and gender equity in school enrollment and retention
Integrate Qur'anic education and provide quality education in nomadic centers
Coordinate effectively with development partners including UNICEF, USAID, UNESCO, and World Bank
